The Mueller Report: What You Need To Know

A redacted version of the highly anticipated Mueller Report was officially released to the public on Thursday, April 18th, after nearly two years of investigation. The former FBI Director, Robert Mueller, was appointed by the Justice Department to serve as the special counsel to oversee the investigation into potential collusion between President Trump and Russia. Fox News reported that President Trump has tweeted over 230 times since May of 2017, when the investigation began, about how he did not collude with the Russians. Special counsel Mueller reports just that. Some of the top level findings in the report include; 1.) the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government in order to effect the outcome of the 2016 United States presidential election. 2.) The investigation did not find sufficient enough evidence to bring up a case on the President for violating campaign finance law, foreign influence, or violation of any other federal criminal law. 3.) The investigation did not find evidence of any U.S. person conspired for coordinating with the Russian Internet Research Agency (IRA). The IRA is the group who is allegedly involved in the hacking. The report clears President Trump and his administration of the collusion charge that was alleged against him for two and a half years now.

Notre Dame Up in Flames

In 1163, during the reign of the French King Louis VII, the construction of Notre Dame Cathedral in France began. The magnificent cathedral took almost two full centuries to complete and was finished in 1345. It only took the fire roughly nine hours to destroy key parts of the Cathedral. The roof of the building, built with oak wood from the 13th century, was almost entirely destroyed. As well as the famous spire, which was added in the 19th century, collapsed amid the smoke. The fire began roughly 5 minutes after Notre Dame shut its doors on Monday, April 15th at 6:45. Fr. Jean-Marc Fournier was brave enough to rush back into the burning Cathedral and was able to save some priceless relics. Notre Dame is claimed to hold the actual Crown of Thorns placed on Jesus’ head during the events leading to his crucifixion. Fournier was able to save this priceless relic as well as consecrated hosts which were under a lock and key. Fournier did this by creating a human chain with the firefighters that were on the scene. Notre Dame Cathedral survived many conflicts throughout history. Conflicts like; the French Wars of Religion, The French Revolution, Franco-Prussian War, World War I, World War II, and the Nazi Occupation of France. French President Emmanuel Macron says that France will rebuild Notre Dame and many people have already donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the cause, but will Notre Dame ever be the same?
